The JP LUCE Mutual Aid team is launching our summer fundraiser to support neighbors in Dorchester and Mattapan impacted by ICE. At a time when the federal government continues to attack immigrant communities - including the recent unjust decision to rescind Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for people from Haiti and Syria - it's more important than ever to show solidarity, including by making sure people can access basic survival needs. Please give as you can and share widely!
Funds raised will be divided equally between:
Dorchester: To support 20 families with legal representation, monthly bills, and other essential needs.
Mattapan: To support 25 families with medical costs, groceries, summer youth programming, and community events.
When a family member is detained by ICE, the financial consequences can be immediate and catastrophic. The detained person is often a primary breadwinner, so their sudden removal from the workforce immediately cuts off household income.
All donations will go directly to these families. Please join us in supporting our neighbors by donating and/or spreading the word!
